The picturesque Valle di Braies, famous for its quiet position close to nature, lies admidst the magnificent high plateaus in the natural park Fanes-Sennes-Braies and the spectacular mountain group of the Dolomites of Braies with its bizarre and haughty peaks.

Prato Piazza (Plätzwiese) and the Lake of Braies (Lago di Braies - Pragser Wildsee), famous for their preserved naturalness are frequently visited places both in summer and winter and attract local people as well as people from all over the world.

The lake in our valley considered the most beautiful lake of the Dolomites. It is also called the "Pearl of the Dolomites" because of its particular charm. During the summer months the lake in fact shimmers like a jewel in several shades of green and blue, whereas in the winter months it is covered with snow and ice.
