Holidays in Predoi

Hotel Predoi
The splendid village of Predoi in the Aurina Valley is located at the foot of the Vetta d'Italia (Peak of Italy) in the most northern part of Italy. Predoi is ideal for spending a winter or summer holiday.

Admiring ancient pieces of art and visiting the Climatic Centre of Predoi

Predoi in the Aurina Valley is one of the most enchanting villages in South Tyrol characterised by many manors, which were built by local merchants a long time ago. The "Faktor" House features typical bay windows and vaults and now hosts the postal and community offices.
Once the American influence reached the valley, the mine was closed down. Several years ago the South Tyrolean Mining Museum was opened and with it the "Ignaz Gallery" with 1,000 metres of length. This integral part of the Mining Museum is now open to the public. Once you've entered the mine you can admire and understand the hard work of former miners, which is explained along two circular routes.

Part of the visiting programme is also the production of cement copper. When the mine was closed in 1893, the women of Predoi acquired the art of bobbing lace-making in Vienna. This art was handed down from generation to generation and is still a popular social activity, just like the carving of masks and roots.

Part of the unused mining gallery in Predoi was turned into a Climatic Centre / Health Gallery, which can be recommended to all those suffering from respiratory or lung diseases like the various forms of asthma. Thanks to the favourable climatic conditions in the Climatic Centre you can enjoy speleotherapy sessions. Breathe in truly pure air free of allergens: in addition to the favourable respiratory effects you'll enjoy peace and quietness, relaxation and regeneration.
