Fanes – Senes – Braies Nature Park

The Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park extends across 25,680 hectares between the communities Badia, Dobbiaco, Braies, Marebbe, La Valle and Valdaora. This is one of the biggest parks in South Tyrol whose natural surroundings are the preferred habitat of numerous types of animals. The forestal surface is covered by dense forests of red fir, pine, needle and larch trees. As numerous are also the animal species: fox, marten, deer, ibex, chamois and ermine, marmot, alpine hare, eagle and common raven.

The Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park offers tourists splendid natural landscapes, fields and green pastures, meadows and imposing Dolomite rocks. Vast natural heritage where you can explore fascinating hiking paths in close contact with nature.

Braies Lake

The lake is located in the most northern part of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park at 1469 metres above sea level. This is one of the deepest lakes in South Tyrol. Braies Lake is embedded in the splendid Dolomite landscape and is very popular amongst visitors who like long outdoor walks especially in summer, when the clear water of the lake reflects the enchanting mountains of the Puster Valley.
