Summer sports in Alta Pusteria South Tyrol Dolomites
Climbing
It all began 200 years ago. Then the pioneering spirit of Europe's finest mountaineers led to the conquest of the hitherto unknown Dolomites. Today you can follow the olt paths up the rocks provided with the most modern equipment. The mountain guides of the alpine schools of the Alta Pusteria Valley will escort you safely to your destination.
Proposals:
"Dolomit Arena" - Indoor Climbing Hall The climbing hall in Sesto with its 16.5 m of height is Italy's highest indoor climbing facility. Thanks to the new architectural solution of enormous windows on both sides of this gymnasium a totally new feeling of indoor climbing is created.
to the Elferscharte 2½ hours from there to the Sentinellascharte 1½ hours, way down to the refuge Berti 1 hour; markings: red white red number 101 and number 124 The Alpinisteig is a well-preserved way dating from the time of the First World War. This way shows us how cleverly military ways were built. On the stretch between the Elferscharte and the Sentinellascharte there is much ice almost all year long; thus climbing irons, an ice axe and ropes are necessary.

Proposals
Tour "Sesto" 35.2 km; 4 hours; difference in altitude: 1245 meters This course is demanding with sharp parts. The descents are without any technical difficulties and one can see the valley of Sexten from all sides.
Tour "Passo Monte Croce - Prati di Croda Rossa" 33.5 km; 3 ¼ hours; difference in altitude: 1032 meters A technically difficult tour with a part where you have to push your bike after the pasture Malga Nemes. For a short time you are even in the area of the Veneto. After the beautiful meadows of the Prati di Croda Rossa a gravel road brings you back to the valley.
Tour "Monte Elmo" 36.5 km; 4 ½ hours; difference in altitude: 1272 meters This tour has a long and difficult ascent. Especially for the even sharper part after the pasture Leckfeldalm one needs strength and tenacity. However, the overwhelming panoramic view after the Leckfeldsattel is rewarding and afterwards the way goes only down.

Val Campo di Dentro - Tre Scarperi Rifugio Starting from San Candido, take the San Candido-Sesto bike trail to the intersection and head for the San Candido mineral springs. A short ride along a woodland road on the left leads to the charming Val Campo di Dentro railway, and the parking lot. Height gain: 350m Degree of difficulty: easy to moderate Average time: 1 - 1.5 hours
top Malga San Silvestro The route starts near the craft factories on San Candido's West-bound ring-road, where a surfaced road (no vehicular traffic allowed) crosses a meadow leading to the Dobbiaco railway station. The surfaced road rises slightly towards a wide, easy woodland path along the banks of the Rio San Silvestro, to the Malga. Mount Casella di Fuori Bike trail from San Candido to Sesto, then after crossing the bridge at the entrance to the town head right along a woodland track (the signpost says 'Monte Casella di Fuori'). Height gain: 830m Degree of difficulty: strenuous Average time: 2 - 2,5 h
Cornetto di Confine Starting from the square below the Church of San Silvestro, the path is an old military track, not always very level, that winds up to the Cornetto di Confine rigde. The path continues on down to another crossroads, rises to the Hotel Panorama and the Mitterberg Fortress, then reaches the maso Prünsterhof on the left. Mount San Candido - scenic route This scenic route can start either from Versciaco or Dobbiaco. Take the path from San Candido to Dobbiaco, then the carriage road along the flanks of the Haselsberg (Costa dei Nosellari). After a hairpin bend, the next landmarks on this easy ride are the Maso Feichterhof kiosk (refreshments) and the Anderterhof and Schopfenhof restaurants. Either descend directly to San Candido along the Val Castello road, or go another kilometre to a crossroads: the right hand road also returns to San Candido (via Maso K?ntnerhof). A very rewarding option is to cross Mount San Candido and reach the Maso Stauderhof restaurant, continue along the ridge of Mount Versciaco, reaching "Gasthof Jaufen" and Hotel Almhof, and join up with the surfaced road that runs along the river from Prato Drava to San Candido. It is also possible to do the same route in reverse: an easy hike to Versciaco then a gentle climb to the Jaufen restaurant. Instead of taking the woodland trail towards the Church of San Silvestro cross Mount Versciaco and Mount San Candido directly to Dobbiaco.
